Founded in 1984 by respected educator Donald Dunbar, Dunbar Educational Consultants provides personalized, professional guidance services for students bound for boarding school, college or graduate school, as well as for students with special educational needs. We serve our clients today from offices on the East Coast, as well as in Europe and Asia.

In an industry largely composed of one and two-person firms, Dunbar stands out in the depth and experience of our counseling team. We believe that no single person can be the sole authority in today’s admissions climate or completely knowledgeable of the nuances of the many schools and colleges that may be a potential fit for your son or daughter.

Drawn not only from academic circles but from a variety of professional backgrounds, our educational consultants focus on developing and building specific areas of expertise which they continuously share with the rest of the team. We all work together on each other's cases to achieve the best results for each student.

We review every case on a regular basis as a group, providing each of our applicants with the evaluations and recommendations of our entire counseling team. We also meet at least three times annually to discuss and share trends and changes in our dynamic field. Individually, we regularly visit schools across the country to stay current with their facilities and programs, and understand the types of students they are looking for and how their admissions committees make decisions on applicants.
