We offer customized one-on-one career counseling services to students and alumni on specialized topics in individual sessions or intensive coaching packages. Our services focus on setting short and long term actionable goals that are in line with an individual’s needs while teaching life- long career development skills.

Individual services available:
*All services are 60 minutes in length, and include specific action items pre- and post- session.

  • Self-Assessment: This important first step will clarify your marketable skills, values, motivators, and interests to identify career choices.
  • Career Exploration/Market Assessment: Educate yourself about the world of “work.” Identify industries, functions and companies that can best utilize your unique profile. This service can assist in choosing a major/minor field of study reviewing skills, values and interests, and the need for further education.
  • Resume Development and/or Overhaul:
  • Developing a Powerful Cover Letter: Learn how to set yourself apart from the competition highlighting your compelling advantages in order to get your resume read.
  • Targeted Internship / Job Search Strategies: Learn how to effectively identify summer internships and positions utilizing both online and offline strategies.
  • Personal Pitch: Communicating your “pitch” is an essential tool in effective networking. Learn how to introduce yourself and communicate your career interests to many different audiences, and be remembered.
  • Informational Interviewing / Networking: Learn how to connect with others in a particular industry or field and start building effective professional relationships while tapping into the ‘hidden job market.’
  • Basic and Advanced Interviewing Skills: We introduce you to a “real” interview with tips on research and preparation, image, employer expectations, and practice questions.
  • Salary Research and Negotiation Strategies: Learn how to effectively evaluate opportunities before an offer is on the table, and how to handle the negotiation process before, during and after an offer is received.
  • Personal Branding: Evaluate your online, on-paper, and in-person image. Using LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets can be very useful, but must carry a professional image.
  • Etiquette/ Netiquette: Learn and practice etiquette skills that could help set you apart and put your best foot forward.

Comprehensive Career Coaching Packages:

  • Create a College Roadmap-Launch Your Internship and Career: (ideal for freshman and sophomores)
    This 6-session package prepares students with valuable skills and tools to launch a successful career plan. Upon completion of the sessions, students will have the skills to link their College Major (or expected Major) to valuable internships and work during their pre-graduation years, stand out in the interview process, establish references, build a network to support future career goals, and have a roadmap to follow during the undergraduate years.
  • Build Successful Career Development Skills: (ideal for juniors, seniors and graduates up to five years after degree)
    This 9-session package provides college students and recent graduates with coaching, lifelong skills, and practical tools to achieve and manage a successful career. Beginning with a self-assessment, this program builds a customized career action plan which fits individual professional interests, education, and lifestyle and personal goals. Participants are trained in advanced research skills including the use of the Internet and social networking sites, as well as advanced interviewing, networking, and relationship building skills. Participants are guided to develop and write a resume and cover letter, and given invaluable tips on strategies and image to create their own personal brand and stand out from the competition.
  • Intensive Career Support with a Clinical Social Worker
    Susan Jones, MSW, will work with college seniors and recent graduates with a strong emphasis on bolstering the candidate’s motivation and strengthening their capacities for perseverance throughout the course. In a process that is extremely supportive and typically lasts three months, she will broaden their sense of possibilities and uncover passions and strengths. This program is successful because it relies on constant counselor accessibility, via email and telephone, and a relationship with the candidate predicated on weekly deadlines and accountability. Ms. Jones will work actively with each client to make sure that deadlines are meaningful and fulfilled.
