We feel that the impact of this downturn will also affect admissions for colleges across the board. We predict that colleges will admit at least an average of 5% more candidates in the early decision process than they did last year, as there is a tremendous amount of pressure on colleges to insure that they will be filling their incoming classes with qualified candidates. This will probably put pressure on the need-blind admissions process from early decision through the wait list period. Early reports support this prediction.
