"What I Did Last Summer...."
For many, summer is a time of rest, relaxation, time at the beach, camp, idle hours, etc. However, as you think about preparing for college, you really need to think about the role your summers can play in your application. This is not to say you shouldn't have some well-deserved rest and relaxation after the rigors of the past academic year but you can, and really should, take some time to explore something that you really care about or are interested in, an activity that might help a college admission office become better acquainted with you. There are many worthwhile, rewarding and productive programs, jobs, internships, volunteer opportunities (to name a few categories) that will only enrich the quality of your summer and help support you as a strong candidate when it comes to applying to college. Think about where your interests lie and what you might like to spend your time doing. The following websites might give you some good ideas or at least trigger some thoughts as to what you might want to do. Feel free to contact us if you you'd like to discuss your summer plans. Take advantage of your summers to pursue your interests, develop your talents, earn some money - be productive!
