Just When You Thought It Was Over....
College is only the beginning, seniors!

Before you know it, it will be time to think about your post-college plans. As you know, we are very big on planning ahead at Dunbar!

So here are a few words of wisdom to guide you in post-college planning as you set off on your new campus adventures:

• Sometime during your first semester, find your college or university Career Services Office. Become familiar with the services they offer and make sure you know when the right time is to start working with them to explore options for the summer after your freshman year.
• We consistently hear that the students who start working with the Career Services in their freshman year are the students who graduate with jobs after four years.
• Keep in mind as you develop relationships with professors through smaller seminars or research opportunities that you can ask them to write you a letter of recommendation for you and put it on file with Career Services. Most of the letters will come from your upperclass years but it's better to have letters written when you are fresh in their minds than to go back later to ask for letters if you decide to apply to graduate school.

And keep an eye out for a Dunbar program in August with more advice, including break-out sessions for students who may be interested in law school, medical school, business school or general graduate school programs!
