Making the Most Out of Your Summer Experiences for Career-Conscious College Students
For College Students:
Making the Most Out of Your Summer Experiences
Prepare to make the most out of your summer experiences, whether an internship, volunteer role, traveling or just enjoying the time off. Regardless of your goals this summer, most of you will be asked in the next few months the question, "Tell me about yourself" from your internship employer, new colleagues, and friends. Do you know how to answer that question so that you leave an effective impression? Think in terms of who your audience is, and what "personal brand" that you want to be remembered for. Think of what those buzz words would be, and start formulating your introduction.
We've all heard of the statistics that 80% of opportunities are found through networking but what does that mean for you, as a college student fitting into any of the categories above. How can you effectively expand your network while enjoying your summer experience? The relationships that you create today will be taken with you throughout your journey. Learn how to effectively navigate these waters, and build effective long-term relationships regardless of who you are connecting with.
The Dunbar Career Services Team will be presenting a workshop on, "Making the Most of Your Summer Experiences" on Friday, May 20th.
