Introduction: October 2011
Dear All,
It has been a busy and expansive summer and fall for DEC!
The most exciting part of our late summer and early fall was the expansion of our consultant community. We welcomed three new colleagues to DEC: Virginia (GiGi) Vogel, Hope Murtaugh and Harry Rosenholtz.
GiGi lives in Georgetown and has worked as an independent consultant for the last twenty-seven years in the Washington D.C. area. Before becoming an independent counselor, she was the Head of college counseling at Georgetown Visitation Prep School. She is a full member of NACAC and the IECA. We are gratified to have discovered this top professional and added her to our team of counselors.
Hope lives in Greenville, South Carolina, having initially worked in the Princeton admissions office under the great and legendary Fred Hargadon. She also served in the college counseling offices at Charlotte Country Day School and Christ Church Episcopal School in Virginia. She was at Princeton with our own Caroline Brokaw Tucker, and the two of them recently teamed up with Jed Appelrouth of Appelrouth Tutoring to give presentations on the college admissions process in Atlanta and Charlotte.
Harry is a graduate of Case Western Reserve and lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Following a twenty year career in the business world in New York City, Harry became a full time hockey coach, most recently coaching the Yale women's team. He brings to us contacts with coaches in the general sports arena and his direct experience with how college admissions works for athletes.
We are experiencing a continuing increase in interest in our services from families across the US and also from Europe, South America and Asia. Despite the slow down of the global economy, we find ourselves expanding in order to continue to give our students and their families the team approach which makes us unique in the market place. We are also expanding our efforts to keep up with our former students, to be able to serve them at every stage in their educational experience and beyond.
We always remain interested in our former students and their families and warmly welcome new members of our extended family!
Yours Sincerely,
Donald M.Dunbar
